Yacht Charter

Welcome

Moonfleet Sailing is based at Cobbs Quay Marina in Poole Harbour which is an ideal base from which to explore the Dorset & Devon Coastlines, The Solent, The West Country or to make the more adventurous channel crossing to visit France and The Channel Islands. Whatever your experience you will find that we can offer you the right package whether it be a weekend exploring the delights of Poole harbour and local bays or a longer 7 day holiday cruise.

We are a small family business run by a dedicated and friendly team, we pride ourselves in the quality of our yachts and the personal service we offer all our clients ensuring a care free holiday from the moment you arrive.

As professional yacht charter specialists we will help you select your yacht that best suits your needs and requirements, whether you are chartering for the first time or if you have chartered many times before.

Skipper/Instructors are available to join you for the first day or more, to assist those who are new to chartering or the area.

Poole Harbour is Europe’s largest natural harbour, its extensive sheltered waters provide a magnificent haven for recreational sailing and water sports.  Eight yacht clubs are based around this world famous harbour and each year it welcomes around 5000 visiting yachts.  Sharing the harbour waters with yachtsman are the cross channel ferries and local fishing fleet.

Studland

Studland Bay is situated immediately outside Poole harbour where you can anchor or pick up a mooring for lunch or overnight. It is sheltered from the prevailing south westerly winds and here you can go ashore to visit one of the local public houses or walk along the cliff top to the famous Old Harry Rocks.

Swanage

Swanage is the second and largest bay on leaving Poole and is the last port of call before departing across channel.

The Solent

The Solent is only a short sail away and is well known for its many harbours and anchorages both large and small. Cowes week and the Round the Island Race are just two of the events held annually.

Weymouth and Lulworth Cove

To the west of Poole can be found Lulworth Cove which is a small but idyllic bay which is an ideal anchorage given the right conditions. Go ashore to visit one of the many pubs or walk along the cliff path to Durdle Door. Further west is the seaside resort of Weymouth which is an ideal stepping off point for those sailing to The West Country.

The West Country

For the more adventurous a West Country Cruise should not be missed visiting Torquay, Brixham, Dartmouth, Salcombe and Plymouth.

Channel Islands and French Coast

Just a short passage away for the experienced sailor   are Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney which are delightful islands to visit.  The idyllic life style portrayed on these tranquil and unspoilt islands are envied by thousands of visitors each year.  The French coast and rivers provide interesting and varied sailing whilst providing some of the Worlds best cuisine.
