RYA Diesel Engine Course

Content: The operation, maintenance, and basic repair of a modern diesel engine.

Each year, a large proportion of the Lifeboat service "call outs" are for yachts with engine problems. Many of these are simple faults that could, with a little knowledge, easily be rectified - without outside assistance. The RYA Diesel Engine course is designed to teach yachtsman to be more self sufficient. The one day course teaches the principles of diesel engine operation, the systems and parts of the engine, fault finding and rectification of common problems, routine maintenance and winter lay up procedures. This course is a must for all yachtsman - a sound knowledge of diesel engines may not just save you money - it may one day save your life! At the completion of the course you will be awarded the RYA diesel engine course certificate. The diesel engine course is held in our classroom and includes all course materials, morning and afternoon tea.

Lunch is not included.
